SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom is Rehydrated

THQ Nordic tweeted out the other day that they would be announcing three new games, over three days and people started to speculate. Would we be getting a new Timespliters, maybe Destroy All Humans or even a new Red Faction, the answer so far is no, but we are getting a remake of a Spongebob Squarepants game.

The first of the games confirmed is SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated, a remake of the 2003 release. They have dropped a little bit of a teaser, but be warned it is short.

Players will get to play as Spongebob, Patrick or Sandy and use their unique skills to help defeat Plankton and his evil plan to rule Bikini Bottom, via an army of wacky robots.

Many of the characters that you remember from the show, will be in the game, but will all be given that high-end visuals makeover. But some redone visuals, are not the only thing, the developers are restoring some content that was cut from the game, like the Robo Squidward fight and more, but are adding new stuff as well.

An all new multiplayer horde mode is coming and will allow to players, either online or via splitscreen, to take part, what it is, we don’t yet know, but it could be something really fun.

The game is coming to Switch, PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2020 and whilst announced just before E3 2019, the game won’t be making an appearance there.
