South of Midnight gets a new trailer as it aims to release in 2025

At the recent Xbox Games Showcase 2024, Compulsion Games were on hand to reveal the first gameplay for South of Midnight, which was also revealed to be releasing in 2025, not 2024 as many hoped. Check it out below.

In South of Midnight, players take control of Hazel a young women who has come to the south in order to find her mother. When we catch up with her in the gameplay video above, we see she has made a friend in Catfish, who is a catfish, though an extremely large one. Catfish has offered to help ferry Hazel up the Mississippi Delta, but there is a blocker in the way, in the form of Two-Toed Tom, one very, very large albino alligator.

The trailer offers a look at combat and traversal, showing off Hazel’s magical weaving powers, and gives us a taste of the game’s darkly gorgeous Deep South setting. Sadly this taste might be all we get for a while as the game has been given a release year of 2025, so we are still many months away from going hands on.

When the game does arrive it will come to Xbox Series X|S and PC.
