Skyrim is getting into shape, the shape of an octagon with UFC fighter Robert Whittaker being added to the game
Bethesda Australia have been known to create some unique campaigns for their games over the years, they have also been known to create building sized artworks and honestly, just about anything in between.
When they announced that UFC middleweight fighter Robert Whittaker was going to be an ambassador for them, I like many others, would have assumed it was a symbolic gesture, but it turns out that is not the case, as the man has become quite popular at events, due to his passion for the games that Bethesda makes.
Now though, thanks to Texan modder Virginia Smith, he is set to be immortalised in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, fully modelled and voiced, giving players a new way of taking on the best that the game has to offer, arrow to the knee and all.
“Honestly, it's a little surreal for me to be a part of something that has had such an impact on my life,” said Robert Whittaker. “I must have put hundreds of hours into Skyrim alone, not to mention the other Bethesda titles and it's one of my favourites. For me to be a part of something like this is a dream realised. Come visit me in the game and let's punch on!”
“It’s a privilege to bring one of our Aussie stars and Elder Scrolls fans to the land of Skyrim,” said Simon Alty, Managing Director at Bethesda ANZ. “We’ve worked with Robert Whittaker for over three years and his passion and enthusiasm has been an inspiration to the team. Now, we’re excited for fans of Skyrim and UFC all over the world to continue their adventures with ‘The Reaper’.”
As this is a mod, it is available on all platforms that support it, which means once again, Switch misses out, but Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 can all embrace the physical combat potential.
