Senua's Saga: Hellblade II gets dated via the Xbox Developer_Direct

The second game shown off in the Xbox Developer_Direct was Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II, check out the full presentation at the bottom.

The story starts out as a tale of revenge, as Senua chases down the Vikings at their source, but along the way she will encounter new tribes and places, with things that may not be explained at the outset. The game is of course not going to be shying away from the impacts of the mind on someone on a journey, with the team working again with Dr Paul Fletcher and speaking with people who have suffered from psychosis.

Combat is back again, but this time everything has been ramped up as its not more impactful. Fights have been crafted in a way, that the developers hope that players will feel that they only just made it through the battle, even if they don’t.

The games presentation has of course been given a massive boost, with the vistas that Senua visits being inspired by Iceland, which is where the team spent time to ensure they got the right vibe. We already know that the team created accurate outfits and weapons, in the real world, to ensure that things would look handmade.

The audio has been given a massive boost as well, the first game only had the voices moving around your head, but now the entire mix, from voices to music and sounds of the world, all now are presented via spatial audio.

The game is coming to Xbox Series X|S and PC, with a release into Game Pass on May 21st.
