Sea of Thieves is setting sail soon on Steam
Microsoft, as a company, have for the past few years developed a system for their offerings, make their own hardware to draw people in, but then eventually, offer the software to where the people remain, it is how we got Office on mobile for example.
Xbox have taken this further and in addition to the Xbox One and Windows 10 releases, started to release their games on Steam, some are day one releases, others a little while later and that is where we are now, as they have announced that Sea of Thieves will soon set sail on Steam.
The best news is that the game will support full cross play, so if you own the game on any platform and your friend only has Steam, they can play with you. There is currently no date for when the game will arrive, but you can wishlist the game for now and go from there. The version of the game that is coming is the Anniversary Edition, which features all the content released in year one.
But it gets even better as the Anniversary Edition goes even further, presenting an expanded Sea of Thieves with a host of free new content and features released during a prolific first year. This includes features added during major updates such as The Hungering Deep, Cursed Sails, Forsaken Shores and Shrouded Spoils, plus two exciting new arrivals announced on the game’s anniversary, The Arena and Tall Tales – Shores of Gold.
