PlayStation VR2 is getting PC support this August
PlayStation said in early 2024 they were looking at ways to bring support for the PlayStation VR 2 headset to PC and they have done that with the announcement of the PlayStation VR2 PC adapter coming this August 7.
Perhaps not the most innovative name, the PlayStation VR2 PC adapter will connect to your PC and then let you hook up your PlayStation VR2 headset, so you can enjoy SteamVR via it. However, there are a number of features not being supported.
These are the options that are come with the headset when connected to a PlayStation 5 console, but will not be in the PC supported mode.
HDR
Headset feedback
Eye tracking
Adaptive triggers
Haptic feedback
The adapter will have a RRP for $94.95, making it an expensive little box and you will still the DisplayPort cable on top of that.
Rumble support will still be around, it just won’t be the fancy version. A lot of the support for those features are driven via the PlayStation 5 processing them, so with the PC not required to do the same, it makes sense that they are not included.
The below are the minimum specs needed, in order to ensure that you can enjoy VR games with the headset, individual games may require more than the below though.
