Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny reveals some of the new features included

Capcom showed off a brief look at Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny during the recent Future Games Show March 2025 Showcase, but they had more to share. An extended video has been released, where the games original director Motohide Eshiro, talks about the original and the updated. Check it out.

The newest addition to the game is what has been called Hell mode. In this mode there are no recovery items and only one life, so players will really need to be sure about their skills before taking it on.

For the rest of the game, it now offers a 16:9 aspect ratio, but also the original 4:3 and players can swap back and forth anytime they choose. There is also a new Easy Mode, which will be perfect for anyone who wants the story and is a great juxtaposition to the the new Hell Mode. There are also tweaks to the games menus, with weapons being swappable without needing to use a weapon and the game offering an auto-save function.

In addition the game will include a music player, where fans can listen to all 43 songs from the original game. The original release did include a song and extra from Tomoyasu Hotei, Capcom have confirmed none of that is in the remaster.

The game will also feature a gallery, with over 100 pieces of art included. The art will be presented in the highest resolution possible, with the ability to zoom in and enjoy all the detail offered. A few example pieces are below.

The game is launching on May 23rd for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Switch, with digital being the only option for the game.
