MultiVersus is coming back again, this time as a full release

After releasing as an open beta, (yes beta so any reviews made for the game should be completely ignored) and then taken offline last year, Player First Games and WB Games have announced that MultiVersus will officially release in full on May 28. The news was confirmed via a video featuring the games director, Tony Huynh, you can watch it below.

For those not in the know on what the game is, think Super Smash Bros, PlayStation All-Star Battle Royale or Brawlhalla, but swap out all those characters and insert those owned by Warner Bros. That means DC, Cartoon Network, Hanna Barbera and more.

MultiVersus will release with a new PVE mode, more heroes and personalities added to the roster, additional stages based on reimagined universes and environments, first-class online play, improved visuals, and much more.

These are the characters that will arrive on day one, with more expected to come pretty consistently soon after:

  • Superman

  • Wonder Woman

  • Harley Quinn

  • Black Adam

You can learn more about each character on the official site, something that will be handy if you have no idea who some of the characters are.

The game itself will be free to play and release for Xbox, PlayStation and PC, there is no Switch version planned. The game will offer full cross-play and cross-progression as well, so if Switch 2 is announced and they bring the game there, your progress carries across.
