Monster Hunter Wilds drops an update on the games status
Capcom hosted a special community update for Monster Hunter Wilds, in which there was new about the games multiplayer, weapons, monster behaviour and more.
In fact one of the things they addressed almost right away was just how the game will run and look on the games supported platforms. A PlayStation 5 Pro update was confirmed to be happening, but there was no confirmation on what exactly it will enhance.
For those with a base PlayStation 5, the game will offer up two modes with one prioritising the graphics and the other the frame rate. As was shown in the stream and below, but will upscale to 4K from lower resolutions, regardless of the mode selected, but if you prefer graphics, the base resolution will be higher. That mode will also cap the framerate at 30fps, for those after 60fps the framerate mode is needed.
The same is happening on the Xbox Series X version, the options are identical and the base resolutions are as well, where things change is with the Xbox Series S release, it will be locked to 1080p and 30fps. For those on PC via Steam, the specifications for the PC release were not revealed, so there is no telling what it will need to run at this stage. The developers did say that they are working on lowering the minimum, which makes me think that they are a bit high right now.
The full presentation goes for 90 minutes and they dive into a fair bit, mostly about weapons, but still more. One of the topics discussed was about the chances of another open beta test. The answer was basically, if it happened then it would likely be the same open beta that was already made available, with a few little changes. There are no plans for any new open beta tests ahead of the games launch.
You can check out the full presentation below, or just wait until February 28th, which is when the game will release on PC, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5.
