Midnight Suns shows off more of its action and gets a new release date
Having delayed the game recently, to sometime in the new Take-Two fiscal year, many folks and that includes us, thought the game would not arrive until sometime in 2023, but it seems the team at Firaxis had other plans. The game, at least in the first release wave, will arrive on December 2nd, meaning the wait is only a few months, not 12, check out the new gameplay trailer below.
The December 2nd release date is for the PC, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 versions of the game, the other platforms are still going to release in 2023, unless they decide to really surprise us.
In addition to the new gameplay and release date, we also got word that five animated prequel shorts are coming, which will provide background on the games characters, like how Lilith became the Mother of Demons, and how Super Heroes like Blade, Magik, Ghost Rider and Nico Minoru came together to form the young core of the Midnight Suns.
"In Marvel's Midnight Suns, we knew we had a really cool opportunity to dive deep into the dark side of Marvel and introduce some supernatural heroes that may be new to many Marvel fans," stated Jake Solomon, creative director at Firaxis Games. "Prequel Shorts sheds light on the events leading up the game and really brings the world of Marvel's Midnight Suns to life."
Check out the intro for them below, the first one is set to release on October 31st and then another one weekly, until the games release date, which is roughly five weeks later.
The game is coming on December 2nd for PC, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, with Switch, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions coming later.
