Hitman 3 has stepped out of the shadows and will strike in January 2021
During the recent PlayStation 5 reveal event, we got the announcement that Agent 47 is back again, in the all new Hitman III, which will send him on his most dangerous assignments yet.
This is the conclusion to the story that the developers at IO Interactive have been telling over the previous two games and when all is said and done, Agent 47 and the world around him, will never be the same again.
The game is coming in January 2021 to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, PC and PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, so those who are not upgrading just yet, will not be left behind.
“HITMAN 3 has a much darker tone than the previous games in the trilogy", said Mattias Engström, Game Director. "On top of the core Hitman experience, we are mixing in some surprise elements, an evocative atmosphere and a very real sense of closure."
Hitman 3 will take you around the world to exotic and luxurious locations that are packed with creative opportunities. Your ultimate goal is to explore these meticulously crafted locales and figure out exactly how you want to eliminate your targets. You’ll have complete freedom to take disguises, create “accidents,” interact with other characters and blend into the crowd to watch your master plan unfold – or gloriously fail. That’s also part of the charm!
“I am immensely proud and excited to announce HITMAN 3,” said Hakan Abrak, CEO of IO Interactive. “This game will be self-published by IOI and will come directly from us to our passionate fanbase. The entire IOI team is ready and determined to deliver a pinnacle Hitman experience.”
The developers have also released what they call a ‘cinematic gameplay’ trailer, which is just a fancy way of saying, gameplay footage, just not presented from the view of someone playing, still it looks good.
Perhaps the coolest part of the announcement is that the third entry will also act as a platform for all of the levels from the first two games, meaning that players can import locations from the first two games, giving them 20 locations to play through in 3.
