Get ready to rumble in WWE 2K Battlegrounds
After teasing the game a few weeks back, 2K have finally lifted the veil of secrecy on WWE 2K Battlegrounds and it is chaotic and colourful as you might have hoped, check out the reveal trailer below.
The game will offer up a few modes, for those who just want to get in and smash, there is Exhibition, for those seeking a longer and more rewarding experience, jump into the campaign, where you can meet characters like Stone Cold Steve Austin and Paul Heyman. For a little more of a fight, you can prove yourself in the King of the Battleground mode, an online, last-man-standing fighter where four players start, but four more are waiting to jump in at any time.
Featuring some of the biggest names from the current WWE including Roman Reigns, Drew McIntyre, Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Asuka, Daniel Bryan, Kofi Kingston, Randy Orton and combined with Legends from the series past including Andre the Giant, Undertaker, Mankind, Shawn Michaels, Yokozuna, Sgt. Slaughter and your own custom fighter, there will be no shortage of matches you can make.
“We know WWE fans and gamers enjoy a wide variety of experiences, and with WWE 2K Battlegrounds, we’re presenting a whole new dimension through arcade-style gameplay that’s completely different than our WWE 2K simulation franchise," said Chris Snyder, Vice President of Marketing for 2K. "We look forward to seeing everyone tear it up with friends and family in the Battlegrounds.”
The game will also feature 8 premade stadiums, complete with hazards and objects you can enjoy in your matches, but much like the option to make your own wrestler, you will also be able to enjoy your own arena.
Coming on September 18 for Switch, PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, there will be two flavours available, the standard edition, or the digital deluxe, which includes some extra fighters and some coins for your ingame buying needs.
There are no microtransactions here, you earn coins as you play and can spend them on new items to wear and more.
