Freedom Wars Remastered has been revealed, bringing a cult classic game back
Bandai Namco and developer Dimps have announced that the PlayStation Vita classic game Freedom Wars is getting the remaster treatment and is coming in January 2025. Check out the announcement trailer for Freedom Wars Remastered.
The game has players take on the role of a prisoner who has been condemned to a million-year sentence, your only chance at freedom lies in braving perilous missions. It's a stark choice: face death behind bars or fight for life in the theatre of war. Your destiny is in your hands.
In a distant future where all resources on earth have been depleted, being alive is a sin by itself. As a sinner sentenced to one million-years in prison, you must volunteer in dangerous operations to reduce your prison sentence and fight your way to freedom.
Players won’t be alone as by their side is their most trusted weapon, Thorn, to dominate the battlefield. Stand alongside your allies and your warden cyborg Accessory to face off against powerful enemies.
The remaster will offer players new higher resolution textures, models and a new interface. For those with the right hardware, 4K support will also be offered and when you couple that with the new difficulty options and overhauled weapon crafting system, the game should be great for new players to come into and returning players to rediscover.
The game itself is set to release on January 9 for PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and Switch.
