First look at The Witcher: Blood Origin is here
The second season of The Witcher maybe done and while a third season is currently being written, there is no release date for that. Thankfully Netflix have released the teaser for The Witcher: Blood Origin, which if you watched all the credits at the end of the recent season finale, you may have already seen.
This is the official synopsis of the show, as provided by Netflix.
Every story has a beginning. Witness the untold history of the Continent with The Witcher: Blood Origin, a new prequel series set in an elven world 1200 years before the events of The Witcher. Blood Origin will tell a story lost to time - exploring the creation of the first prototype Witcher, and the events that lead to the pivotal “Conjunction of the Spheres,” when the worlds of monsters, men, and elves merged to become one.
The cast confirmed so far are Laurence O'Fuarain as Fjall, Sophia Brown as Éile and Michelle Yeoh as Scian, with the three of them on the YouTube thumbnail above. Other cast members have been announced, but their character names may indicate some spoilers, so will keep those quiet here.
As for when the show is releasing, at the moment it is only 2022, but it wouldn’t surprise me to see it in December of next year, only time will tell.
