Embrace the power of the sun, when Imp of the Sun comes to PC in 2022
Publisher Sold Out and developer Sunwolf Entertainment have announced Imp of the Sun, a 2D action platformer, coming to PC in 2022, check out the announcement trailer for the game below.
Inspired by Peruvian cultures and traditions (something rarely seen in gaming), Imp of the Sun has players traverse beautifully hand-drawn levels as Nin, an imp created from the final spark of the sun. Nin is sent on an adventure to defeat the Four Keepers and restore the sun’s power, ending the Eternal Eclipse before the world is plunged into darkness.
“We are incredibly excited to have partnered with Sold Out to release Imp of the Sun,” said José Varón, CEO at Sunwolf Entertainment. “This is more than just a videogame to us; it is also a creative way to share some of our culture and history to a new and wider audience.”
As the first title from Peruvian-based team Sunwolf Entertainment, it was important for the studio to be inspired by local cultures and traditions. As well as composing a fully original soundtrack performed by a live studio orchestra, Sunwolf also sought special permission to sample local historical instruments dating back thousands of years, featuring them within the soundtrack to create a breathtaking and unique musical score.
The game is set to be release on PC via Steam and the Epic Game Store in 2022, but no firm date has been decided
