The Hero is detailed in the latest Super Smash Bros Ultimate video
Nintendo has detailed the next character to join the roster in Super Smash Bros Ultimate, The Hero from Dragon Quest XI will be ready for action on July 31, as a stand alone purchase or as part of the Fighters Pass.
While the main Hero is that of the upcoming Switch release, Dragon Quest XI S Echoes of an Elusive Age, there are other skins available, based on the main heroes from Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation, Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen, Dragon Quest VII: Journey of the Cursed King. In addition, the Final Smash will call all the main heroes from the rest of the number entries in the series.
In addition to the latest fighter, a new stage was also unveiled, called Yggdrasil's Altar, it will feature iconic elements from Dragon Quest XI S. There is also a selection of music from throughout the long running series history, including the main theme of Dragon Quest XI, which is known as Overture on the soundtrack or The Hero goes forth with a Determination in the game.
“With the introduction of fan-favorite characters like Hero from the DRAGON QUEST series to the game’s expanding roster, Super Smash Bros. Ultimatecontinues to assemble the largest cast of iconic video game characters ever,” said Nick Chavez, Nintendo of America’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “We love being able to engage Super Smash Bros. Ultimate fans through a steady release of exciting downloadable content, and look forward to continuing to expand on players’ game experiences on Nintendo Switch beyond launch.”
As the packs contain more than just a fighter and a stage, more information was provided on addition Mii Costumes that players can equip, including a Veronica outfit, a Slime hat and more. These are all available as part of the Fighter Pass, or can be purchased on their own.
