Captain America: Brave New World gets its first trailer
Marvel Studios have released the first trailer for Captain America: Brave New World, the fourth movie for the Captain America series, but the first time that Sam Wilson will hit the big screen in the role. Check it out below.
The trailer begins with a tense White House meeting where Sam Wilson, again played by Anthony Mackie, confronts the newly-elected U.S. President Thaddeus Ross. Harrison Ford makes his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut as Ross, a role originally played by the late William Hurt.
It sounds like there's a lot of tension and potential for interesting dynamics between Ross and Sam! Their past certainly adds a layer of complexity to their current relationship. Ross's ambition to make Captain America an official military position could lead to some intriguing developments. How do you think Sam will respond to this proposal, given their history?
In "Captain America: Brave New World," the alliance between Sam Wilson and President Thaddeus Ross is put at risk when Sam becomes entangled in an international incident. His friend, retired super-soldier Isaiah Bradley, is the prime suspect, leading Sam on a dangerous investigation. The trailer of course ends with a glimpse at Red Hulk, a character we have not seen in the MCU, but could be a great addition to it.
The cast includes Anthony Mackie, Harrison Ford and Carl Lumbly, all playing the roles indicated above with Danny Ramirez joining the big screen after his small screen debut as Joaquin Torres in Falcon and Winter Soldier. New additions to the cast are Shira Haas, who plays a former Black Widow, Xosha Roquemore and Giancarlo Esposito.
Returning to the MCU for the first time since 2008’s The Incredible Hulk and Liv Tyler who played Betty Ross and Time Blake Nelson who was Samuel Sterns, with that characters last appearance having a lot of Hulk blood dripped into a headwound, causing some changes.
The movie is aiming to release on February 13th here in Australia
