Call of Duty is back for another year and is once again crossing generations, though the last time this happened was with Ghost and that was not the best game. There is some strong warnings for those who are looking to get the game on current platforms, to them upgrade consoles.

If you get the game on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One and you plan on getting a new console and want to continue to play the game, you will only get the same game. If you want the next gen version of the game, you need to buy the PlayStation 5 game or the specifically marked for Xbox Series X.

Again, if you buy the current generation versions of the game, you DO NOT get a free upgrade to the next gen versions.
