Broken Roads is paving the way to release this November for PC and Xbox

Versus Evil and local developers Drop Bear Bytes have announced that Broken Roads, the isometric RPG will arrive first onto PC, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One this November 14th. Check out the latest trailer for the game below.

Broken Roads is a narrative-driven RPG that brings exploration, strategic turn-based combat and meaningful philosophical choices to an all-new Australian post-apocalyptic setting. Broken Roads skillfully blends traditional and all-new role-playing elements on top of a classless system offering near-unlimited character development options built around four philosophies: Humanist, Utilitarian, Machiavellian, and Nihilist. Furthermore the game presents players with an original morality system: the Moral Compass which sees dialogue options and questing decisions influence, and be influenced by, a character's philosophical leaning and the tough decisions they make along the way.

With Broken Roads we wanted to make a deep, cerebral RPG full of difficult situations that really test what players are comfortable with. We also set out to create a fully immersive experience based on real-world Australia, so a ton of work went into creating an authentic vision of this post-apocalyptic wasteland. Broken Roads may be set in the dusty Western Australian outback, but we wanted to ensure that it’s also got its share of compassion, empathy and humanity.
— Craig Ritchie, Game Director at Drop Bear Bytes

The game takes inspirations from countless towns that make up the state of Western Australia, with the team taking photos, video and even audio to ensure they are capturing the real spirit of the land.

The game will eventually come to Switch and both PlayStation consoles, but there is no date for those yet. Those seeking a unique Australian adventure can do so in November for PC and Xbox.
