Battlefield 2042 is welcoming the return of the class system
Electronic Arts and developer DICE have released new details about the upcoming return of the Class system to Battlefield 2042.
When the game was first announced, the team at DICE opted to remove the class system in order to create Specialists and while the characters within were fine, many players did not like the way they worked in game. The team have been working on fixing that and the upcoming patch 3.2, which launches later this month will add the Class system back into the game.
The full breakdown of why the changes were being made, what changes are being done and more can be found on the official site, but I wanted to provide a little excerpt from it.
The return to the Class system will shake up how you are used to playing Battlefield 2042, from Gadgets and Equipment now being attached to the Class of your particular choosing, to how you’re approaching the role of that Class as you play throughout your matches.
We have introduced some limitations in the Class Gadget reshuffle but we believe that the changes we are making will address some of the balancing feedback that we’ve been receiving from you while also opening up for new Loadout and ‘meta’ scenarios.
There isn’t an exact launch date for the update yet, but as there are only so many days left in the month, if it doesn’t slip, I would expect one very soon.
