At CinemaCon, which is a convention about movies, 20th Century Studios confirmed that the upcoming Avatar sequel will be called Avatar: The Way of Water.
In addition to that news, we also got confirmation that the first trailer for it will release alongside Dr Strange in the Multiverse of Madness next month, with it set to appear online a week later, so if you are keen for it, you have to see the movie or wait a week.
Speaking of seeing movies, the original movie is set to reappear in movie theatres on September 22, giving you a chance to see one of the biggest blockbusters again on the big screen.
As for the sequel, that will arrive on December 15th, so a few months later. As for the plot, well the movie will be set more than a decade after the events of the first film, with “Avatar: The Way of Water” telling the beginning of a new story of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri, and their kids), the trouble that follows them, the lengths they go to keep each other safe, the battles they fight to stay alive, and the tragedies they endure.
Directed by James Cameron and produced by Cameron and Jon Landau, the film stars Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Cliff Curtis, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Edie Falco, Jemaine Clement, Giovanni Ribisi, and Kate Winslet.
With how little we have to show, you can enjoy some concept art from the pre-production phase of the new movie, they are really quite something.
