Apex Legends is coming to Switch with motion and more

Gamestop sat down with Apex Legends Game Director, Chad Grenier, to talk about the wealth of news that they dropped at EA Play the other day. The big topic though was Switch and how that will handle, there is a lot more to unpack, so I suggest you watch the video, which is below, but for the Switch content, here is the transcript.

Q. How challenging is it to bring a game as big and as detailed as Apex Legends to Switch?

Chad: Yeah, it's a big challenge, we've be working on it for a while, yeah, it's not without its challenges, but I will say it, it is looking really good and running really well. Obviously it is a different platform, and we have to make some changes to the game to get it to run there.

It has motion controls, so we are supporting that, which took some time to support, with the gyro aiming. So yeah, it's a lot of work, but it’s coming along nicely and we're testing it at this point, making sure that it's good to go.

It's worth it, we are huge fans of Nintendo, so I'm personally really excited to bring the game to Switch, so I can take it on the go, or when I am with the kids or whatever.

Q. One more thing about Switch, since it will be cross-play, it will be caught up with all of the content, once it releases correct?

Chad: Yeah, we plan on have all 4 platforms, well 5 if you count steam (ed. Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC via Origin, PC via Steam and Switch) in sync with each other. Same season, same content, cross-play, all that good stuff. So, it will be the same game.

Here is the video, which is something I suggest you watch, if you are interested in the series at all.
