Anno 1800 will be free to play for the first week
Ubisoft have announced that when Anno 1800 comes to consoles on March 16, it will be free to play for one week. This is not a demo of the game or a timed-based try-out, but rather the complete experience. You can learn more about the console version in the newly released dev diary below.
Developed by Ubisoft Mainz, Anno 1800 is a city-building and strategy game, that gives players the opportunity to show off their leadership skills: build gigantic metropolises, set up efficient and profitable logistical networks, colonize an exotic new continent, charter expeditions to the four corners of the globe, and dominate their opponents diplomatically, commercially or militarily.
The game will also be free on PC during that same time, meaning that all the platforms the game is on can enjoy the release. On PC the game can be obtained via either the Ubisoft Connect app or the Epic Game Store and console players can get it via their respective stores.
The game is out now for PC, but will come to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on March 16 and for those who do opt to buy the game after the free week, all progress will carry across.
