Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield announced for Switch

Nintendo and the Pokemon Company, held a Pokemon Direct overnight that announced the next entries in the core Pokemon series, meet Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield.

As this is a new entry in the series, you will get to choose from one of three new partner Pokémon: Grookey, Scorbunny, or Sobble.

In this all new adventure, you’ll encounter new and familiar Pokémon as you catch, battle, and trade Pokémon while exploring new areas and uncovering an all-new story.

The setting is in the Galar region and features a world where Pokémon and humans have worked together to create machines of industry, it has a bit of a light steampunk feel to me.

The games have been announced as coming in Late 2019, but no window was hinted at, traditionally Pokemon games release in November, but they could also be in December, in the week that Smash released last year. For now, we have screens of the game to enjoy.
