FIFA 19 is coming to Switch

Of all the places for us to learn that Fifa 19 was coming to Switch, was in an interview with UK's The Sun: Dreamteam website. Andrei Lazarescu, the Supervising Producer for FIFA World Cup, which rolled out earlier in the week to Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, announced that the game was coming back.

It has been promised that the game will see a visual improvement over its Fifa 18 release, but the game would still not be using the Frostbite engine, which powers the PlayStation and Xbox versions of the game.

“I’m not closing the door on that possibility, however we didn’t want to create a dumbed-down version of the frostbite engine. The intent was never to have a one-off custom engine that were never going to touch again, It was to have that as a baseline and then build from there.”

While it is nice to know the team will be working on the game, this marks only the second title from EA's own development houses to come to the Switch, with Fe being made by Zoink.

With EA Play happening in just over a weeks time, we should learn more about the game there.
