Nintendo details their online plans

Nintendo have finally detailed their paid online service, called Nintendo Switch Online, ahead of its September debut.

We have known for a while that the pricing would be, but today it was announced that people can also get a family plan, where a Nintendo Account holder may invite up to seven others to join a family group; all members of the group will have access to Nintendo Switch Online.

While the monthly, 3-months and 12-month pricing have been confirmed, the family plan pricing has not, given its $34.95 US, $50 seems like the right amount for here.

Nintendo Australia have announced that the family plan will cost Australian's $54.95 a year.

You will be able to pay for the service online and on the console.

The best news is that users who opt in, will be able to use cloud saves on selected games, some games will not support it, but those will likely be few and far between.

In addition, 20 Nintendo Entertainment System games will be given to players, as part of their subscription.
Enjoy a selection of NES games with added online play for the first time ever as part of your paid Nintendo Switch Online membership.
So far only these games have been announced, but more should be detailed ahead of launch.
• Soccer
• Tennis
• Donkey Kong
• Mario Bros.
• Super Mario Bros.
• Balloon Fight
• Ice Climber
• Dr. Mario
• The Legend of Zelda
• Super Mario Bros. 3

One can hope other platforms are added down the line, but with this the idea of the Virtual Console as we knew it, might be done.

Nintendo have added a little FAQ to the page, detailing some answers to some likely common questions.
