Battlezone blasts out of VR and onto standard consoles

Rebellion have announced that Battlezone, the tank action game for VR will soon leave behind the virtual game world and land on standard gaming platforms, later this year.

Originally released for PlayStation VR, then Oculus and Vive, the game will now be playable on PC and PlayStation 4, without the need of a headset, but Xbox One and Switch gamers will also be able to get into the action as well.

Players will embark in this futuristic tank warfare in a stunning first-person view. Delivering a procedurally generated campaign for 1-4 players ensuring no two playthroughs are the same, and drop-in, drop-out online co-op play.

Of course, the game is the Gold Edition, which means that all of the post release content, the tank skins, bobbleheads, and horns, as well as the fantastic Classic Mode based on the original's iconic 80s arcade cabinet, will be included as part of the release. If you are someone who already owns the PC and PlayStation 4 VR versions, then worry not, as you will be able to update to the Gold Edition for free.

The Xbox One, PC and PlayStation 4 version of the game will be out on May 1, with the Switch version to come later.
