Tom Clancy's The Division 2 has been announced
Ubisoft has announced Tom Clancy's The Division 2, which is pretty much all we know, here is the full statement from Julian Gerighty, the creative director at Massive Entertainment.
We’re thrilled to announce that we are working on Tom Clancy’s The Division 2, and that development will be led by Massive Entertainment in collaboration with Ubisoft Reflections, Red Storm Entertainment, Ubisoft Annecy, Ubisoft Shanghai and Ubisoft Bucharest. The Division 2 will be powered by an updated version of the Snowdrop engine that enables us to realize our ambitions for the sequel, but more importantly, we’re also taking everything we learned over the past two years and applying it towards the sequel to make sure we get it right.
Apart from that, and the logo, we have nothing else to show. What we do have though is more planned events in the original game, which if you partake of them, will unlock rewards in the sequel. The game just got an update as part of its 2 year birthday celebration, but it seems, even before the new Shield events begin, there are more things to look forward to, check out the rest of 2018.
While no platforms were announced, I would be surprised if they change from PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, which the first game all released on. If you want to read the full statement about what they have planned for The Division, you can hit up the official Ubisoft Blog.
