ARK: Survival Evolved Brings New Creatures And A Chance To Win

Studio Wildcard has announced a modding competition for ARK: Survival Evolved, where anyone who knows how to make a mod can take home a share of $60,000. They don't have to be existing mods, they can be something new as well, all the details can be found here.

But, on top of that they have also announced that two new creatures will be coming to the PC release of the game, the Dimetrodon and the Dung Beetle.



The Dimetrodon, shown above, offers players shade during excessive heat and shelter from extreme cold by way of the massive insulating sail running down its back. He is reasonably friendly to survivors and its favorite place to roam is the swamplands that are plentiful with small prey.

The Dung Beetle is a wondrous organic biofactory that eats excrement and other useless waste then metabolizes it to produce burnable oil that can power generators and fertilize crops. He is the perfect pet for cleaning up around the tribe’s dirty living quarters! ARK version 232 also adds craftable Beer Kegs for making tasty brew, with various status enhancing effects. But watch out for the subsequent ‘hangover’!
