E3 2014 - Entwined Hands On
When entwined was shown off during Sony’s Press Event I had wondered how exactly it would play and just a few days later I was given the chance to find out.
Entwined has you controlling both a bird and a fish who are two souls that can’t be together. Controlling them is simple enough each of the sticks on the controller controls one of them, and moving them around is a matter of rotating the sticks. In my brief time with the game I was able to pick up the simple control scheme and was able to move them around as needed.
The levels in the game will see you moving around the space as coloured objects fly towards you, when you move the orange through the orange sections you are presented with a nice glow feedback to show success and if you miss out on it the controller has a nice rumble to indicate failure. From time to time you will need to bring both creatures together and when they get close they turn into a green hue, this is how the game shows they are entwined.
Each of the levels is actually representing their lives as the story tells of their nine lives and how they are always trying to be together. The game has a very simplistic approach to both control and design but the art style of the overall game is pretty incredible. Look for Entwined soon.
