Xbox Design Lab is turning things upside down as it comes to Australia today
Xbox has announced that the Xbox Design Lab, the system that lets you design your own custom Xbox controller is now available in Australia.
The system is pretty straight forward, you just need to pick the colours or patterns you want for a bunch of parts on the controller. So the faceplate, sticks, d-pad, triggers, rear grips and back plate. Xbox were kind enough to allow me to design my own recently and I went with a mostly all Yellow controller, but for the grips, I went with the rubber backs.
As you can see the buttons are slightly different, they are actually inverted from the normal and while I would have loved to have made them all yellow, I still like what I ended up with. Even the box that the controller comes in is unique to the Xbox Design Lab.
In addition to it launching here in Australia, Xbox also unveiled new pastel colours – Soft Orange, Soft Pink, Soft Green, and Soft Purple – and new Camo Top cases with matching side caps, including Mineral Camo, Arctic Camo, Forest Camo, Sandglow Camo and Blaze Camo.
Check out some of them below.
You can access the Xbox Design Lab here, with prices starting at $100 for a basic, but if you add in rubber grips or other more unique parts the price can go up.
