Xbox Cloud Gaming has come to Xbox consoles

A few months back, Xbox said it was coming and today, they have said it is here, Xbox Cloud Gaming has come to Xbox.

That might be a little weird, so let’s break it down, first of all Xbox Cloud Gaming has been out here for mobile phone and some computer based web browsers, that was the first release cadence. The second was that you can now play the games, directly via your console, no additional device needed, so if you have Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and you see a game there you want to play, you now no longer need to download it to your console, you can just stream it.

In addition to that, getting a game invite from a friend for a game you haven’t downloaded yet is no longer going to stop you from joining right away. Plus another big upside, those gamers who have not yet had the chance to upgrade to Xbox Series X or Series S, can now enjoy the next-gen versions of game, or next-gen only titles like Recompile, The Medium, and The Riftbreaker, via the cloud on their Xbox One.

The below video is sweet and all, but doesn’t really highlight just how simple it is, now if you look through the game pass app, if you see the cloud icon on a game, you can play it, without any download required and of course, if you do download it for offline play, you can get your save data as well.

Xbox Cloud Gaming is live today, but will be rolling out to users across the day, on both Xbox One, One S, One X, Series X and Series S
