Wake up, Nintendo Sound Clock Alarmo has been announced

A few weeks back a FCC filing was revealed, where Nintendo were doing something with a motion sensor, the kind that was designed for detecting movement within a small area and now we know what its for, say hello to Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo.

So what is Alarmo, well its an alarm clock that has a motion sensor inside that will detect when you actually wake up. Now alarm clocks are nothing new, my parents had one that made god-awful shrilling noises when it went off, but nowadays everyone uses their phones. Where this is different is that with Alarmo, you don’t need to stop it, it will stop once you have actually gotten out of bed.

The basic gist is that the alarm will go off at its set time, like normal and like some alarms will slowly increase in volume, becoming louder the longer you leave it go. In order to stop Alarmo, you have to actually get out of bed and that will silence it.

If you are not a solo sleeper, you can use the giant button on top to disable the alarm once you have woken up, because if there are multiple people in the bed, the motion sensor won’t work.

Wake up to the immersive sounds and music of your chosen scene each morning. Greet the day with the Mushroom Kingdom's Mario and friends, embark on a daily quest with Link and Princess Zelda, or refresh with the Inklings from Splatoon 3. Look forward to future additions like Mario Kart and Animal Crossing themes to the Alarmo, with even more exciting updates anticipated.

Additionally, Alarmo allows you to review Records to monitor your movement during sleep, set an hourly chime that matches your selected theme, and toggle between Steady or Gentle Modes for your morning alarm. Steady Mode increases the alarm's intensity the longer you remain in bed, while Gentle Mode maintains a steady intensity level.

Now how to get one, Nintendo Switch Online members can register their interest on the local store, you can view the page here, your interest will go into a lottery with two draws, if you miss out on the first draw your entry rolls over to the second.
