Unreal Engine 5 is here and is making next gen look incredible

Overnight, Epic Games revealed Unreal Engine 5 and while we would not normally talk about game engines here, it is very important, because it is a new engine, designed to make the most of the next generation of home consoles and PC hardware.

The demo itself is running in real time on a PlayStation 5 Dev Kit, making it our first look at what games could look like on the new hardware, currently all the games we have seen are upscaled versions of current releases. But rather than me explaining it, just watch the video, you will also get a chance to see the demo in action, one note though, the demo is completely playable.

In addition to that, Geoff Keighley hosted a livestream, after the reveal with members of the Epic Games team, who made the engine possible. One member was Tim Sweeny, one of the creators of each iteration of the Unreal engine, check it out below, just not the start of the video is the same as above.

If you want to learn a bit more, check out the Epic Games Blog post, where they detail more about it.
