Ubisoft is shutting Hyper Scape down, less than 2 years after it launched
After two years, three seasons and no-one really noticing its existence, Ubisoft have announced that Hyper Scape, their battle royale game is shutting down.
This news was confirmed via the games official website, you can see the full statement below.
Contenders,
We have made the difficult decision to end development of Hyper Scape and shut the game down as of April 28th. We set out to create a vertical, close-quarters, and fast-paced shooter experience and we are extremely grateful to our community for joining us on our journey. We will be taking key learnings from this game into future products.
To the Hyper Scape community, thank you for your passion and dedication to the world of Neo Arcadia both inside and outside of the game. Your devotion to the game we built will always be cherished.
Reach out to us if you have questions.
Sincerely, Hyper Scape
This isn’t a shocking revelation, the series never launched in Australia, in fact it barely launched anywhere and when it was out it only got around 12 months worth of content before Ubisoft themselves stopped updating the game.
At the last Ubisoft Forward event, the game wasn’t even mention, despite it meant to be one of their big new titles, so it shutting down makes some sense. The only question now is what is happening with Roller Champions, the game was revealed back in 2019 and meant to be out now, but has been silent for more than a year.
