Turok 3: Shadows of Oblivion is getting the remaster treatment this November

Nightdive Studios, the folks that just brought Quake II back to gamers, have announced that after 4 years of silence, the Turok trilogy from the Nintendo 64 will be completed when Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion comes to Switch, PC, PlayStation and Xbox.

Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion from Nightdive Studios will feature upgraded gameplay, high-resolution textures, enhanced lighting and rendering, and support for console gamepads with platform-specific features.

The studio has made a special call out that this is the first game to use their enhanced KEX engine, which is the engine that brought DOOM 64, Quake, Quake II, Turok and Turok 2 to modern platforms, along with plenty of other titles.

The Turok series is one of the classic touchstones of gaming and being able to provide the newest and improved version of Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion is a great feeling. It makes full use of the latest version of our KEX engine, and we’re excited to share the game with players later this year.
— Larry Kuperman, Director of Business Development at Nightdive Studios

Like the studios other works it will support all aspects of the various platforms it releases on so for Switch gamers that means motion controls for the new generation of consoles that is 4K at 120fps.

The game will come to all on November 14th, and completes the Turok trilogy, sorry Rage War fans, that is not counted as canon.
