Marvel have released a second trailer for Thunderbolts* during the American Football Super Bowl, which gives us a look at the threat that is bringing these unique individuals together, check it out.
In addition to the new trailer and two new posters, that is below, we also learnt that Son Lux will be composing the score for the movie. The last motion picture work that the group did was for a small movie called Everything Everywhere All at Once.
Here is the official synopsis for the movie, as provided by Marvel.
In Thunderbolts*, Marvel Studios assembles an unconventional team of antiheroes — Yelena Belova, Bucky Barnes, Red Guardian, Ghost, Taskmaster, and John Walker. After finding themselves ensnared in a death trap set by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, these disillusioned castoffs must embark on a dangerous mission that will force them to confront the darkest corners of their pasts. Will this dysfunctional group tear themselves apart, or find redemption and unite as something much more before it’s too late?
The movie is bringing back Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, David Harbour, Hannah John-Kamen and Olga Kurylenko from their other movie appearances, with Wyatt Russell making his big screen debut as John Walker, after starting in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Julia Louis-Dreyfus is also back and finally gets a decent shot at Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, after her bit roles and cameos in other productions.
The cast also includes newcomers to the MCU — Lewis Pullman, Geraldine Viswanathan, Chris Bauer, and Wendell Edward Pierce.
Jake Schreier directs Thunderbolts* with Kevin Feige producing. Louis D’Esposito, Brian Chapek, and Jason Tamez serve as executive producers.
Below are some stills provided by Marvel and below are the two new posters, one of which evokes a certain American breakfast cereal and the other is just embracing the * in the name.
The new posters for the movie, just not the one on the left is the American one, so the date on that is for them. Our Australian one is on the right and contains our release date of May 1.
