The Santa Clause is fulfilling one final contract via Disney+

Disney have announced that Tim Allen will once again don the big red suit, as he steps back into the role of Scott Calvin, aka Santa Claus, in a new Disney+ series.

The show is being overseen by Jack Burditt and Kevin Hench, who are known for their work on 30 Rock, Modern Family, Frasier, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and Last Man Standing, respectively.

In the Disney+ series, Scott Calvin is on the brink of his 65th birthday and realizing that he can’t be Santa forever. He’s starting to lose a step in his Santa duties, and more importantly, he’s got a family who could benefit from a life in the normal world, especially his two kids who have grown up at the Pole. With a lot of elves, children, and family to please, Scott sets out to find a suitable replacement Santa while preparing his family for a new adventure in a life south of the pole.

Allen of course is also known for his work on Home Improvement, as the voice of Buzz Lightyear from the Toy Story series and more recently, Last Man Standing. As of now, there is no other casting news revealed, so no word on if any of the other actors from the series will be joining, there is also no word on how many episodes the series will run for, though given the Disney+ method, it could be anywhere from 8 to 10.
