The Plucky Squires grows up with a new update
When The Plucky Squire released, we really enjoyed the game, but one of the things that did bother us was that the game felt too simple at times, often treating everyone like they were a child. That is no longer the case as the game has grown up, or it has on PC and will soon on consoles.
A new update has been released that adds a new mode called Streamlined Mode, which basically treats players like they know a thing or two about videogames. Here is what the team have said about this new mode:
You can still play the game as it was before, but a new abridged Streamlined Mode has been added for anyone who’d prefer a less hand-holdy experience. This trims less necessary dialogue, removes or reduces camera hints, cuts out some tutorial content, and control of the game is taken away from you less often. It’s the same grand Plucky Squire adventure, just tweaked to remove some of the friction for seasoned gamers.
This is something I wish most every game would offer, there are far to many times I play a game and it treats me like I am 5, looking at you Pokemon, so this is a welcome update.
In addition to the new mode, the update also adds in dialogue portraits for major characters, so you can see who is speaking. It also fixes some issues and such, common for any type of game update.
The update is out now on PC, but will come to consoles soon, no exact date has been given.
