The Minecraft Move adds Jack Black to its cast, alongside Jason Momoa
After staring in a small indie film called The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Jack Black is set to hit the screens again this year in Borderlands as Claptrap, but it seems his gaming adjacent movie roles are not done as he is now joining Jason Momoa in Minecraft.
Details about the movie are very slim, but we do have more cast and the director. Emma Myers from Wednesday and Danielle Brooks from Orange is the New Black are also in the cast, but like Black and Momoa, there are not details on what roles they will play.
The movie is set to be directed by Jared Hess, who also directed Nacho Libre and Napoleon Dynamite, so there should be some good laughs captured. The only real issue right now is that there is no word on who is writing the story.
Given that Minecraft is a game without anything resembling a plot, it could go in any direction and that might be a bad thing, of course, if they wanted to be lazy with it, adapting the Minecraft Story Mode games is an option.
Either way, there will be a wait ahead as the movie is not expected to hit screens until April 2025.
