The iconic Resident Evil 4 is getting a Remake in 2023
The recent State of Play from PlayStation was kicked off with the reveal of Resident Evil 4 Remake, which as its name explains, is a remake of the legendary Resident Evil 4, check out the debut trailer for it below.
Edvin Edso, a Producer for Capcom took to the PlayStation Blog to explain more about what is being done for the game.
This time, the game is being developed to achieve state-of-the-art quality for a survival horror suitable for 2023, while preserving the essence of the original game. We aim to make the game feel familiar to fans of the series, while also providing a fresh feeling to it. This is being done by reimagining the storyline of the game while keeping the essence of its direction, modernizing the graphics and updating the controls to a modern standard.
The game first launched as a Gamecube exclusive, before Capcom quickly pulled that and released the game on PlayStation 2, which then opened up the floodgates, allowing the title to be ported to every other platform since, including mobile and VR.
When the remake lands next year on March 24th, it will hit PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam.
