The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion Remake has been announced

In perhaps what was one of the worst kept secrets, thanks in part to court documents and then leak after leak. But Bethesda have officially announced The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, which is out today. Check out the new trailer for the game below.

The game is almost 20 years old now, as it first released in March 2006 and was a launch title in Australia for the Xbox 360. The objective of the game is quite simple, shut the gates of Oblivion, but as this is an Elder Scrolls game, there is a lot to do before you get to that point.

Also, as this is an Elder Scrolls game, players can be just about anyone, from the noble warrior to the sinister assassin, wizened sorcerer, or scrappy blacksmith, forge your path and play the way you want. Once your character has been made, you can then journey through the rich world of Tamriel and battle across the planes of Oblivion where handcrafted details have been meticulously recreated to ensure each moment of exploration is awe-inspiring.

This release also includes everything Oblivion has to offer, with previously released story expansions Shivering Isles, Knights of the Nine, and additional downloadable content included in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered.

The game does offer a Deluxe Edition for those who want more, it can also be purchased as an upgrade pack down the line if you desire. This is what is included:

  • New quests for unique digital Akatosh and Mehrunes Dagon Armours, Weapons, and Horse Armour Sets

  • Digital Artbook and Soundtrack App

Yes, horse armour returns though you won’t need to buy it this time. The game is out now for Xbox Series X|S, PC and PlayStation 5 and is available in Game Pass for Ultimate and PC tiers.

The team also released a nice behind the scenes/making of video as part of the games reveal and you should watch that below.
