The Division Heartlands details some of its gameplay in a new video
As part of Ubisoft Forward, viewers got a few new details about the upcoming spin-off, The Division Heartland, a free-to-play experience, that is set within the same world as the main Division games, but in an all-new location, small town America. Check out the developer update video below.
The game is still the same at its core, a survival multiplayer shooter, which takes place within the town of Silver Creek, a rural place located within the American Midwest. While it was a decent place before the outbreak happened, since then things have taken a turn for this idyllic community and that is where the player steps in.
Once again, you will get to become a Division agent, as you respond to a call for help, you and other players will make your way to the town, provide what help you can and face down both enemies and rogue agents.
The game is being developed by Red Storm, the studio that Tom Clancy founded, with support coming from the additional Ubisoft studios Reflections, Annecy, Leamington, Shanghai, Bucharest and Sofia. The team is aiming to bring a test-and-learn mindset to the development of the game, continually conducting test phases with the community to gather and implement feedback before moving to the next phase.
You can actually sign up to play the game early, as part of their playtests and help shape the game going forward.
