The Crew 2 brings new content in its latest season, including a big 60fps update for the new consoles

Ubisoft have announced that Season 6 - Episode 1 of The Crew 2 has launched, which is nice it comes with new challenges, cars and what not, but the big addition is that the game now sports 60fps on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. Check out the video below to get a complete overview of what is available in the new season.

Back in March the team said that they had plans to keep the content coming for the Crew 2, some of which was going to be new cars and tracks, but some would be features and at the top of the list was a 60fps update for Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5.

The new update is out now, bringing that new speed to the game, but as always with the new consoles, there is a caveat, if you want 4k resolution, the game is going to be capped at 30fps, but if you want the full 60fps experience then the resolution has to be set to the FullHD Dynamic Resolution. Thankfully, the game has a setting now, to let you swap inside the game, so you don’t need to modify your console settings.

Those who have the Series S will have to keep waiting however, as the update is only for the Series X console, the team are still looking into bringing the update to the Series S, but have nothing additional on the matter right now.

But what about other platforms I hear you ask, so yes stop shouting, well the team have you covered as well, as a new update is being applied to all platforms, bringing the fuzz. Basically the team took the opportunity to activate a couple of extra technical features which should lead to a more pleasant visual experience. It is important to mention that those features may not have the same impact depending on your platform.

Now you might think a feature known as Fuzz means that your car can now enjoy the asthetic benefits of fuzzy dice, but no, it is actually for grass, branches and such, as they are rendered in the distance, which should in theory provide a nicer and smoother looking game world. At least what you can see of it when you are blasting around at 150km/h.

The other update you may notice there is SSS or Screen Space Shadows and that is for shadows in the game, who would have guessed that. Shadows are already simulated, but this new system means that the detail will be higher, ensuring that things look better at a distance or up close.

There is even more changes, from the way the weather itself behaves in the open world, to how it impacts how your cars look, with snow now sticking to the car body. Given the amount of information on that particular topic, you best hit up the games site to learn more about it, if you want to.

Of course, it isn’t just the technical aspects that have been modified, the update does come with new content, which the trailer at the top showed off, but in addition to that, there is even more to come, check out the roadmap for the games new content.

If you want to learn more about the events, vanity items and more, be sure to hit up the games site, where they breakdown all the details, including providing looks at the new Forsberg Racing Nissan 270Z Pro Drift car and the Nisan GT-R Nismo GT3, with even more featured.
