The Big Stories You May Have Missed Last Week
Each week there are a lot of news stories that come through, some are massive enough that they generate conversation, then there are those that can just slide on by.
Last week was the real E3 of the year, there were showcases from Disney, Ubisoft, Nintendo, PlayStation, Xbox, Bandai Namco, Square Enix, Konami, Koei Tecmo, Sega, Call of Duty, 505 Games and countless more. Most of them were connected to the Tokyo Game Show in some capacity, but the number of them dwarfed the count from back in June.

The first ‘full’ Nintendo Direct since February had a lot of expectations to live up to and it delivered across the board, from the release date and title of The Legend of Zelda’s next game, to a new Fire Emblem, Pikmin and Kirby game. Plus the number of farming and RPG combination games that were included was insane.
Everything Revealed During The September 2022 State Of Play
Only hours after the Nintendo Direct, PlayStation hosted their latest State of Play, loaded with games for 2023 and one for both this year and the following, it was a short but packed event. The reveal of new Tekken and Yakuza games were big, but there were also some new ip revealed as well.

This is the third and final big show of the year, there were hands on from countless developers, but for those unable to travel, it is the showcases that made the show. We got looks at countless games from the show and it resulted in a load four days of streams.

This event happens only every few years, so it was always going to be loaded after an extended break, but with new movie reveals, tv show reveals - plus trailers for both. A dedicated games showcase, panels on the parks, cruise lines, toys, comics and more, there was a lot to see if you were a Disney fan.

Having skipped their usual June showing, a lengthy show from Ubisoft delivered updates to their existing games, detailed looks at their line up for the rest of this year and a look at the future of Assassin’s Creed. Sadly, with a lot that was shown, there was a lot missing as well.
