The Big Stories You May Have Missed Last Week

Each week there are a lot of news stories that come through, some are massive enough that they generate conversation, then there are those that can just slide on by.

Last week saw the reveal of more events, some purely digital, but some in person, which shows that the world is slowly returning to normal. In addition, Laced Records was back with another vinyl soundtrack, this time for Resident Evil Village and the included games for both Xbox Games With Gold and PlayStation Plus were announced.


The Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase Returns This June 13

Last year saw the first combined showcase from the two newly joined companies and while there were a handful of third party and indie games in it, it was mostly about their own titles. This year will be all about Starfield, as that is the big Bethesda game for the year, but in addition from them, we might see Indiana Jones. Over from Xbox Hellblade 2: Senua’s Saga should get time in the spotlight, alongside Forza Motorsport, we just have to wait and see now.

We have known that the sequel for Avatar was coming, we have known it for years and while the original goal was 2021, the pandemic saw that change. Now it is due out this December, we have a proper name for it, Avatar: The Way of Water, with the first trailer coming with Dr Strange 2.

The Super Mario Movie Has Been Delayed And Will Now Release At The End Of March 2023

Nintendo are not afraid to delay games, in order to ensure quality is the best it can be and it seems they have the same attitude to movies, as they confirmed last week that the Super Mario movie will now release in April, in the USA and Japan. For us downunder though, we get the movie earlier, as March 30 is our local release date.
