Tamagotchi is one with the force, with the R2-D2 one coming this November
Bandai Namco have announced that Tamagotchi is joining with the force this November, as the R2-D2 Tamagotchi has been dated and can be ordered now.
“Tamagotchi has been an incredible brand for Bandai for over two decades and our collaborations have only continued to expand.” said Trish Garrett, Bandai America Brand Strategist. “Star Wars is one of the most universally recognised franchises and we can’t wait to incorporate a piece of it into the world of Tamagotchi.”
Each Tamagotchi features the same basic functions, but some special ones have extra, these are the official features, as provided by Bandai Namco
Train the R2-D2 – Tamagotchi to master various skills
Take care of the R2-D2 - Tamagotchi by keeping him charged and clean and by playing two mini-games (Firefighting and Dejarik “holochess”)
There are 19 skills for the R2-D2 - Tamagotchi to learn and 7 mini-games for him to unlock, depending on his skill level
Make sure you keep your R2-D2 - Tamagotchi happy. If you neglect him for too long, the Jawas may take him away!

“We are particularly excited about this collaboration given the success we have seen with previous integrations,” Garrett shares. “Connecting the Tamagotchi virtual pet world with the Star Wars galaxy is going to be an epic experience that will truly immerse fans and provide them with a new way to enjoy a Tamagotchi device.”
The R2-D2 Tamagotchi will be available in two colours, the white and the hologram blue, so you can choose which one suits you best.
