Nintendo has announced that the first Pokemon Stadium game will arrive on April 12 for Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack members, giving them a taste of what 3d battles used to look like.

If you have never heard of the game, this is what Nintendo say about it:

This battle arena game, released for the Nintendo 64™ console in 2000, features all 151 Pokémon from the Pokémon Red Version, Pokémon Blue Version, and Pokémon Yellow Version games. In Kids Club, you and three other players can enjoy nine different minigames, like Clefairy Says and Sushi-Go-Round!

One of the big aspects of the day was that of the ability to transfer your actual Pokemon from the GameBoy games into the Nintendo 64 titles. As expected though, that feature will not exist in this version of the game and just as well, transfer packs don’t really have a slot on the Switch.
