Super Meat Boy Forever is also coming to Switch this year
It was only last week during The Game Awards that Super Meat Boy Forever was dated and at that time, the only platform you could play the game on this year was PC via the Epic Game Store. Well during the recent Indie World showcase, Nintendo and Team Meat changed that, as the game is also coming to Switch on December 23rd, making the Switch the only console you can play the game on this year.
The game has been in development for quite sometime, given it was first announced back in 2017, but as they say, good things come to those who wait.
“Super Meat Boy was a massive success that changed my life forever and people had been clamoring for a sequel for ages,” said Team Meat co-founder and programmer Tommy Refenes. “But I didn’t just want to deliver more of the same and call it a day. Meat Boy deserved more than that. I wanted to rebuild Meat Boy from the ground up, in a way that would offer an entirely new experience that still hits all the same kinetic, addictive notes as its predecessor. I know Super Meat Boy Forever took forever to make but we’re confident that it was worth the wait.”
If you want to play the game this year, you can on Switch or PC via the Epic Game Store, other platforms and digital stores will need to wait until sometime in 2021.
