Star Wars Outlaws defies the plan and delays until later in 2024

Ubisoft recently posted their financials for the first six months of the year in which they posted about sales numbers and more, but buried within was information on a game, specifically as it was not mentioned.

The game is of course Star Wars Outlaws, which was aiming to release before the end of the companies fiscal year, which runs from April 1st to March 31st. With that window March 31st was the latest the game could release and still be classed as this fiscal year, but the game has been removed from the listings for games out or coming out this fiscal year.

The first example of the delay can be seen in the below text, which is taken from Ubisoft Reports First-Half 2023-24 Earnings Figures report.

The lineup for the remainder of the fiscal year includes, on the premium side, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora™, Just Dance® 2024 edition, Prince of Persia The Lost Crown and Skull and Bones™, which is set to release during Q4 2023-24. On the free-to-play side, Rainbow Six® Mobile, The Division® Resurgence and XDefiant will also launch later this fiscal year.

As you can see, Star Wars Outlaws is not present in the games set to release in the final quarter of the fiscal year, which is when Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown and Skull and Bones are expected to release.

This wasn’t just an omission as there is a slide pack, which contains the following:

As you can see, the section considered Premium does not contain the game and the text describing the section states “The line up for the remainder of the fiscal year”

Given we haven’t heard or seen much on the game in a few months, a delay isn’t that surprising as its a staple for Ubisoft games, but still seems we will need to wait a little longer before we can be smugglers in a galaxy far, far away.
